Reading
Books I’ve read and would highly recommend.
- Buildings Must Die: A Perverse View of Architecture, Stephen Cairns & Jane Jacobs; Isbn 9780262026932
- The Scent of Time: A Philosophical Essay on the Art of Lingering, Byung-Chul Han; Isbn 9781509516049
- CAPS LOCK, Ruben Pater; Isbn 9789492095817
- Sociology, Capitalism, Critique, Klaus Dörre, Stephan Lessenich, Hartmut Rosa; Isbn 9781781689318
The Death and Life of Great American Cities, Jane Jacobs; Isbn 9780679741954
Some individual examples aren't as relevant anymore as they may have been when the book was written, but many of the ideas are still extremely relevant. Designing for passive surveillance of the street environment stuck out to me as an important concept that we seem to all but ignore now.
